Youth Tobacco Surveys (with W. Warren and K. Beckett): Self-administration of student interviews within schools; assistance with design development in a number of U.S. states as part of a national system of statewide surveys of 1,500-10,000+ students, regionally stratified PPS systematic sample of middle and/or high schools within states; proportionate allocation when priority to statewide estimates and balanced allocation when priority given to producing regional estimates, sampling of students within schools through selection of 2nd period classes. American Cancer Survey Sun Exposure/Protection Survey: Telephone interview survey; regionally stratified list-assisted RDD and age-targeted telephone sample of 1,000 child/parent pairs, with separate modules for 11-18 years olds and their in-household primary caregiver; proportionate allocation among seven regional strata defined according to levels of exposure to ultraviolet radiation; unequal probability design with selection of one child respondent per household.
