|Advancing the Practical Contributions of our Research|
The RTC helps prepare SRP students and researchers to take advantage of market forces to transfer our cutting edge environmental health research and technologies to increase the impact of our program in the protection of public health. In this area the SRP has concentrated on field application of remediation technologies and the development of tools that assist decision makers in addressing uncertainty in risk assessments. Drs. Jun Nakamura and James Swenberg filed two patents over the past four years, and Dr. Casey Miller has two active patents.
In addition, to prepare young investigators and students for future commercialization opportunities, the RTC also conducts a biennial two-day Technology Development Boot Camp, for more than 50 students, post-docs and faculty, and has assisted in training young scientists and engineers in an NIEHS-sponsored program in Entrepreneurship at UC Davis.
