As part of the North Carolina Preparedness and Emergency Response Research Center (NC PERRC) Regional Project team, Christine Bevc applies her expertise in social networks and social science research methods to better understand the organizational partnerships of public health preparedness and response, and recovery. She assists with the collection, management, analysis, and dissemination related to project activities and findings. She joins the NC PERRC from the University of Colorado at Boulder, where she earned a PhD in sociology. She has a MA in applied sociology from the University of Central Florida in Orlando. She brings her experience from the Natural Hazards Center and projects including the Department of Homeland Security’s collaborative Center of Excellence grant on the Study of Terrorism and Responses to Terrorism (START) and NSF's Information Technology Research grant on Responding to Crises and Unexpected Events (RESCUE). Her research broadly focuses on organizational behavior, environment and society, disasters, and research methods. Her peer-reviewed publications have been included Annals of the American Academy of Political and Social Sciences, Environment and Behavior, and Disasters.
