I have extensive program and research experience conducting community based nutrition, food security , WaSH (water, sanitation and hygiene) and livelihood surveys in varied types of nutritional emergencies - developmental to complex humanitarian emergencies. Before joining the Institute (IGHID), I worked as Program Manager in Southern Sudan with Action Against Hunger (ACF). Over the duration of my time with ACF, I managed programs ranging from emergency supplementary feeding to food security and livelihoods. Other related experiences have been work as an Associate Consultant for the World Food Program (WFP) in Rome and on health and nutrition programs at the Korle-bu teaching Hospital in Ghana, West Africa. Currently, as Program Director at IGHID, my responsibilities include: coordination of IGHID Africa programs and liaison with cross-campus programs & projects; strategic oversight and support IGHID; internal/external global health advocacy and networking; assistance with grants, proposals, research, service and training. My research interests include: Nutritional emergencies, Nutritional policy and advocacy, Food security and sustainable livelihoods.
