After working for ten years in public health and health services research, Dr. Sollecito worked in the contract research industry at Quintiles Transnational Corporation from 1982-1996. As President of Quintiles Americas, he was responsible for all clinical operations in Canada and South America, as well as the United States. He also served as a member of the Quintiles Transnational Board of Directors during 1995 and 1996.
He was appointed to the faculty of the UNC School of Public Health in 1997and was Director of the Public Health Leadership Program from 2000 through 2009. His primary areas of interest include global health,continuous quality improvement, project management, and leadership in public health and clinical research; his teaching interests center on the application of distance education and e-learning technology.
Dr. Sollecito recently served as lead editor, and co-editor, respectively for two books on Continuous Quality Improvement: McLaughlin and Kaluzny's Continuous Quality Improvement in Health Care, 4th Edition, 2013; and Implementing Continuous Quality Improvement in Health Care: A Global Casebook, 2012.
