|Louise Winstanly, LLB, MS Bioethics|
Ms. Louise Winstanly currently teaches graduate-level course, Critical Issues in Global Public Health (PUBH 711) and co-taught the Global Learning Program's Monitoring and Evaluation learning unit.
Louise received her LLB (Honors) Business Law Degree from London Guildhall University (United Kingdom) and is also admitted to practice in New York. Received her MS in Bioethics from Union Graduate College in 2009.
Prior to her move to Chapel Hill, she lived in Japan for 9 years. While in Japan, Louise worked for Simpson Thacher and Bartlett LLP and Nishimura and Partners. She also served as a Governor of the Tokyo American Club and President of the Japan Foreign Woman Lawyers Association.
Louise also owned her own marketing company - Stoneleigh Marketing - when she was living in South Africa
Louise is a serving member of the UNC Institutional Review Board, UNC Hospital Ethics Committee, UNC GSGPH Advisory Council (additionally, she was a member of the Acceleration Advisory Committee, a group of advisers who helped launch the program funded by the $50 million gift from Dennis Gillings and Joan Gillings to the UNC Gillings School of Global Public Health) and member of the NY State Bar Association, The American Bar Association and an associate member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (Asia).
